Hi... quick update. I released (ahem) adslcheck. Vry small thing that 'themes' the BT ADSL Checker for use with your own site. Mail me if you'd like it.

Also fixed a bug and added a feature to someone else's open source script, which is to do with this and can be found here.

I'll be updating my notes in a bit with the new webcomics i'm reading now.

tut..
I'm all out of web comics again (by which i mean that i've run out of ones to read from beginning to end). Anyone who has any great suggests, please email. Thank's y'all....
slef: I agree that the phrase 'free software' is probably the best we have at the moment, but any marketing campaign that needs it's name explaining could have problems, in my opinion. 99% of people who aren't already active in Free software will connect 'free' with 'gratis' rather than 'libre', and if they need that explained, then they may very well 'switch off'. How do we get around this?

adslchecker:

It's done. Ish.

Take a look at this

feed back to jmb at paston dot co dot uk, if you like - source to be available when i've documented it, and not before ;-)

Well... no entry for a long time...

My latest little side project is a customisable interface to BT's ADSL checker, to allow ISP's to have their own customised versions much more easily. It's all using my (still) best friend, CGI::FastTemplate, which is still very cool.

Lah-de-dah.

Oh, and well done to En-ger-land in their reasonably convincing defeat of those oscar winning argentinians :-)

Working more on webmonkey type stuff today, but it could be worse i suppose - i could be coding VB. Still, the interesting postgressy-perly type project is on hold until tuesday...

iDunno:
Well, yes you did get it going... well done.

iDunno,Chicago: You aren't getting your robot stuff until you add me to the SF project ;-)

Bwhahahaha.. feel the power of the credit card..

Update: ahh. now i feel a fool. they added me 'some time' ago - ho hum.

So... bought a webcam (yay)

...but it only works in doze at the moment (boo)

but iDunno is trying to fix it (yay)

but he's not suceeded (boo)

Update later, perhaps..

Well that's much better.. got a good 15hrs sleep yesterday, having gone to bed at 17:00... i guess 24 is just too old to be staying out that late.. i don't know how savs copes.. perhaps it's the lure of the student body(s) that keeps him going...

In other news, work on the perly-postgresy project is steaming along, thanks to by new best friend, CGI::FastTemplate.

The "I'm so knackered i can't even see" entry

ewww... so, went to the pub with iDunno, savs, Chicago and others, for a quick pint and a game of pool. I ruled the pool table, which was quite cool... but probably due to a lower level of drinking on my part. Did win 40ukp from iDunno by doing a neat double on the black to win the game....

If only a quick pint hadn't turned into 5 quick pints, 2 jd and cokes and half a bottle wine, i'd be ok... as it is we finally managed to call a cab at 0315.

All together now... "URGH"
