Older blog entries for jf (starting at number 3)

Just got back from the UKUUG Linux developers conference. Had a damn good time. Lots of great talks and some good social events, especially the Chinese banquet on the friday night. Met Phil Downer and Dave Jones which was good, and a few too many other people to mention, including some from RedHat UK based at the Cambridge office (Cambridge is my nearest major town). Looking forward to meeting up with a few of them on wednesday and thursday at Linux expo in London. Anyway gotta get some sleep now as I am knackered - obviously I had too good a time in Manchester.

Ok, so I have now finally caught up to the right date. Not done a lot today, mainly because I am naturally fairly idle. Still I have been trying to think of furter functions and stuff I may be able to contribute to gnome-basic, haven't thought of any yet I must admit. I am also thinking about a useful little panel app for when on irc, but more of that when I have thought a bit more about it. Probably wont add anything tomorrow as I am going for a few beers in Cambridge. Maybe from now on I can add entries on the right day and not 2 or 3 at a time, doubt it though.

Got a reply from Mr Meeks. It was a good reply. He pointed out a number of improvements and things I should have maybe done, and to my surprise he committed it. Wow!. That put me in a pretty good mood I can tell you. I suppose I need to think of something else to do now. I'll have a think about that tomorrow.

Finally finished my first attempt at a patch. It was an inputbox function for gnome-basic. So I eventually got around to submitting it to Michael Meeks today and have been waiting to hear about the multitude of errors I have probably made.
