Currently in my day job I am a Strategic Technologist in the Sun OpenSource Office where I do my best to make sure that Sun is doing the right thing when it comes to OpenSource. That doesn't mean I always succeed, but...
In previous engagements at Sun I was the specification lead for the Java Servlet 2.1 and 2.2 specs and the Java API for XML Parsing 1.0 spec. I was also the original author of Apache Tomcat and Apache Ant and was one of the responsible parties inside of Sun which worked on getting those codebases OpenSourced and donated to the Apache Software Foundation.
My current software hacking is dedicated to Amber, a follow on to Ant (an Ant Next Generation if you will) and various utilities to manage my growing digital photography collection. I'll be releasing all of this software as OpenSource software in the very near future.

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.
