Free software developer since 1985. Contributed to the original design and implementation of GCC. Worked on the first port of GNU Emacs to a non-Unix platform (VAX/VMS). Developer of original "fast path" optimizations in X11R3, allowing X11 performance to achieve performance similar to the Mac toolbox (on comparable hardware). Developer of first port of GNU userspace to Win32. Contributor of many bug fixes and improvements to all of these packages.
