procmail does a great job of filtering your list mail even if you aren't using exim or mailman. http://spacepants.org/conf/dot.procmailrc and grep for List-ID or Mailing-List.

Perth rocks.

Beer rocks.

Linux rocks.

There are no ugly women in perth. That rocks.

Thanks to James B. and the rest of the organising team, I've had such a great time. I think I learnt stuff, too.

jdub

But does G2D come with a Mr Fusion? :-)

jdub has been affected by the recent release of the Back To The Future 3 disc DVD box set :-)

The front page has gone to shit. Who certed these morons?

SLUG ctte stuff going well. jdub likes to talk it up like it's the most amazing ctte ever, /me shrugs; just another ctte as far as i can see, yeah we do stuff. don't they all?

looks like i might actually graduate this semester. it's only been 4.5 years for a 3 year CS degree. talked to the head of school about a subject from last year that i haven't got marks from -- i need them to get enough credit points to graduate. totally forgot to tell him about the subject i got 7 marks for for showing up to one lecture, instead of getting an automatic fail... now my average mark is kinda screwed :-) once uni's out of the way i can get back to the important things like Debian and quake2.

not enough sleep, not enough pants.

got ulysses 31 on 9 VCDs from my sister. man this cartoon rocks. i'm going to model the odyssey sometime. also got the mysterious cities of gold. so many childhood memories. now i just need to leech battle of the planets from liedra

good to see everyone active (you know who you are). things are happening, things are changing. "the next few years of your life are the ones that will change the most."

"Married, 26." Yeah, right. :-)

you are looking for "manpages-dev".

Don't worry, the rest of us don't understand the significance of the 64 either... one of the mysteries of jdub's mind.

Glad you enjoyed the Oaks, they do a nice gourmet pizza :)

thom: Good to hear it's going well. I'd suggest sending K&R back by surface mail, it's cheap (and slower [grins at daniels])

Names have been changed to protect the guilty (i.e. myself)

[Q] I've gotten the shits with $program, so i tried $alternate-program which does $thing better.

[Me] Aww, but $program is so good!

[Q] Nah, I just don't like it anymore. Not for $thing.

[Me] Ah well.

[H] Yeah, $program has always sucked for me! It's so slow! It takes ages to do $thing!

[Me] Actually, it's $libthing that $program uses that does $thing, it's not $program doing it at all.

[H] WHATEVER! $program still sucks! $alternate-program rocks!

[Me] "Actually, it's $libthing that does $thing" already!

[H] $program uses crappy library to do $thing, therefore $program is crap, see? Now stop being a dickhead. I'm an end user, I dont' care what happens on the inside.

[Me] Me dickhead? I'm asking you to be correct in your criticism, and you're just being stubborn.

[H] Look, I used $program, I see what $program does, and it's slow. I don't care what it does to do $thing, the fact is that it's crap.

*sigh of frustration* let's just ignore the fact that once $libthing improves then $program (and $another-similar-but-not-alternate-program, which H uses) will be much faster.

H is a good friend, I really like them, but just sometimes it can be frustrating talking to them -- sometimes they can really be quite stubborn.

Knowing my luck, they'll read this and work out who it's about, and then go postal on my butt.

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.
