xlhtml takeover

It looks like I am going to complete taking over the xlhtml project today. I have created a basic web page here. Currently it is the only site on the net about xlhtml, as the main site is down.

Excel Encryption

Well it looks like I may get some help in figuring out the Excel Encryption Algorithm. I received an e-mail from someone at a company called Arizan, looking for information on the Algorithm.
I checked out Arizan's web site, and found they provide a way to read and interact with popular file formats on your PDA, including MS Word/Excel/PPT.
I assume they want info on the algorithm so they can add the ability to open password protected Excel files if the password is supplied.
I will cooperate with them, and ask that any information they discover be turned over to the Open Source community.
I hope that with a company investing some time in this, more information on the algorithm can be uncovered.

I just updated my paper on Excel encryption. It adds the following

  • Links to some e-mails on the StarCalc mailing list at OpenOffice.org

  • A link to a page at Crak.com that talks about Excel and word encryption.

I am now certified at Journeyer level. I want to thank mirwin for doing this.

I just updated the Chicago Project home-page. I added a
section on libOle and libXls.

I updated my paper on Excel Encryption today. It can be found at this link I added the following:

  • Source code that implements the Encryption algorithm

  • An article from SecuriTeam.com
