Why do weathermen lie?

I mean is it so damn hard to get the stupid forecast right? The computers do 90% of the work and yet these "soi-disant" meteorologists can never seem to come up with an accurate forecast. 9 inches of snow--my ass. It was more like 4 which is still bad but, come on, dont lie, it was never going to be anywhere near 9. Snow means staying indoors which brings me to another topic - Samba and LDAP.

Have you ever seen two things that work in such great harmony? Yeah, so maybe staying on top of LDIF syntax makes you pull out your hair every once in a while, hell its a small price to pay for a full nights sleep. Which reminds me, we need to finish the migration to RHEL 3 on that one "special" server. Syracuse here I come.

Anyway other than that things suck. I was supposed to help out with Fedora bug day and then got called to help a friend move his car. Well that spiraled in to hours of snow shoveling fun, followed by me further dislocating my shoulder. I failed to mention I was involved in an accident earlier this week, in which the taxi I was in got hit by some jackass, who was so anxious to cut the line of traffic, that he wandered into the oncoming lane to skip us, right as we began turning. So thats how I hurt my shoulder along with having my jacket ripped to shreds -- that jacket sucked anyway. Worst purchase of my life.

I still owe you LinuxWorld stuff which will come sooner or later, but for now my write up of the Fedora BoF was kindly included by colin in this weeks Fedora News Update. Anyway thats it for now. Time to run.

Intro to Jack 101

Whew! Another Linuxworld has come to pass and everything has settled down again. I figured I should finally set up my advogato stuff as I've been looking at it for damn near 2 years. My lack of a blog recently has also left many people in the dark regarding whats going on. Well now I did it, so HA!.

Spent today mostly relaxing and thinking about stuff. Fedora stuff mostly, also thought alot about ldap stuff. Reread a few parts of the LDAP book by O'reilly which Jerry (the author) awesomely signed for me at LWCE.

I need to finish the write up about the Fedora BoF and my thoughts as well as start planning for other conferences. OLS seems to me like the best place to actually get stuff done with other developers. LinuxTag might be a good place for some PR to attract people to Fedora.

Anyway, I guess thats it for now. I'll post up the rest of my LinuxWorld experience tomorrow or whenever, I guess. Finally great to be back in the world of the blogging. ;)
