finally got around to announcing ishamp 0.3 on freshmeat, and was hit with a few downloads, which is nice to see, i guess.

is it just me, or have a lot of the recent articles been simply mindless link propagation with little or no content for discussion?

goingware: it has got to be a hoax, look at the 4 Kidz page. even for fundamentalists thats a little over the top, i think.

christ on toast fejj this song is awesome, many thanks (and come by irc more often).

sigh, i bet i come off as a complete ass for my reply to shlomif's article. sorry. im not really, but... bleh.

well, it would appear the cssification has taken place. no complaints from me really (even though im a diehard ns4 advocate *grin*). im kinda disappointed to see yet another site go this route, despite the continued shaky support from a lot of browsers (ok, just the one that a *lot* of people use), but whatever.

in other news, lots of coding on various projects, but nothing.. substantial from any of them yet.

and on a more personal note, i am prolly going to fail most of my classes this semester. at least, it sure feels that way after the second round of tests (how stupid is 3 exams and a final in 3 of my 4 classes). sigh. oh well, i guess, im prolly transferring anyways. college is great, except for the whole school thing.

jackshck: rather than milestones and words, id be more interested to see some code for this chicago project. perhaps thats just me though....

while working on a console aim client (which ill get around to releasing soon), i thought to myself "damn, i wish i had gtk for curses." has anyone pursued this idea before (to any sort of fruition)? theres this gnuts thing, but it isnt anywhere near done, and seems geared more towards gui abstraction, rather than just a curses widget set like Gtk+. hmph.

anyone else think Alleluia is a bot like mirwin? *grin*

just kidding, i suppose. but christ, thats a long diary entry with a whole lot of... nothing. oh well, im one to talk *grin*

more website work, more hacking on little projects that amuse me (ishwm, ishamp, ishmail, notice a trend). prolly will never finish any of them, but its fun to cock about with things.

give them a break
i think people (notably slef) need to stop bashing lilo and openprojects. for crying out loud, it is not a horrible server. im sure there are plenty of other servers for you to use, go use them and shut the hell up. if your favorite channel wont switch to such-and-such network, deal with it. stop criticizing their work. its not as if they're trying to piss you people off with "poor" service.

and, whats with all this poor service and such? i havnt noticed any real problems. sure, lilo has a lot of wallops about such and such happening, and it does, but oh well, its not as if he's trying to do a "bad" job. i think lilo and his staff (or, i suppose, whatevers left of them), deserve a lot of respect for running such a server. not a lot of us would want the headache involved in mainting something, especially without any financial or sexual rewards.

assholes.

life
back home for christmas break. home sucks. i want to be back at school.
