Recent blog entries for impulse

It has been a while since I last updated this diary, so here it goes. After a three and a half year relationship, Lorna and I have split up. Although some feelings are still there we hope to be good friends again in the future.

Development of WOPN's new interface is beginning. We have a long way to go, but development needs to be under two months if we are going to time this right. Recent developments with other websites have pushed the issue a bit faster than we may have liked, but it is atleast a definate motivation. Bevin, with the aid of his project RIFE, has volunteered to lead the back-end, but new contracts may have forced him out. I am not sure what we will do. However, before the first line of code is drawn, we need to get down all the features we want first

In other news, Barbicane has coordinated our first planned seemless 24 hour stream for our Christmas spectacular. Check out http://www.wopn.org/schedule for more info.

Well it appears that I have fallen victim to the kernel bugs of the 2.4.18. It finally ate my IDE drive and I am rebuilding my box from the ground up. Luckily I was able to recovery the xfs partition and reclaim some files I needed. Unfortunately it ate like 250 inodes and linux no workie very well anymore.

Normally I would not have cared so much, but I was scheaduled to do a broadcast for WOPN and I had to cancel it. I have a lot of new things planned for my show including artist interviews and a battle of the bands sort of feature. Details need to be re-worked so I guess its all good anyways.

I have the base of the new gentoo box and I am sitting here waiting for X to compile. I will likely be here for days watching it compile, but since I know a watched pot will never boil, I am going to talk away for a while and just wait... and wait... and wait...

Welcome to Advogato
Added my account for the first time. Hope to get misato or MysticOne to add me as an Oggjay for WOPN. Also need to talk to lilo about adding me as a helper on freenode. Will see how things go.

New Advogato Features

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.
