19C3 is over :(
Beside the fact that the E1000 Gbit network card in my ftp server generated too many interrupts for the small K6-2-500 CPU I managed to serve more than 1 terabyte of data per day.
The schedule was packed with interesting speeches, unfortunatly some of them running parallel :( The deathmatch didn't seem to be organized well as the Linux boxes ran Redhat in vmware. There wasn't any moderation or beamer to show the network traffic.

slurm is coming along nicely. I still don't know if it is possible to detect the current network interface type (link speed) on a Linux system so in case you know it would be nice if you drop me a line.

3 days to go: 19C3 will be soon and I've already set up my ftp server. I hope to see some faces I usualy don't see in real life (Linux deathmatch will be nice too :)).

Uni started some weeks ago and I'm currently busy doing stuff there. In the meantime I wrote an ascii network load monitor called slurm. It's quite useful so you might want to check it: advogato slurm page.

vacation is over :( I'm sitting at SIN airport uploading more of my vacation pictures. More to come tomorrow and the days after.

4 Jul 2002 (updated 4 Jul 2002 at 02:25 UTC) »

I've just finished the last exam for this semester. Now it's time for vacation. If you see a wavelan named RAISDORF (WEP disabled) anywhere between Alice Springs and Tasmania it's me :)

At 2am I noticed that 18 DVDs have been stolen from my apartment. Nothing else was stolen (the thief left two notebooks). The hotel managment guys are investigating ...

Just revived my mail hub.
It had to replace the old NetBSD/sgimips 1.5Y with a new one because the sgimips port improved in the last few months and I wanted to get rid of those random reboots. After being flooded by three mailserver everything seems to be normal again and I have no reason to not do my Software Engineering assignment for uni :(

themes4u.org should use CSS files to add themeability to the webpage, so I just rewrote some parts of my private page to see how it works. As far as I can say it works well :)
Now it's time to play prboom over my 31.2bit modem connection with a friend in Germany.

My first diary entry :)
Ok, I'm in Melbourne, Vic for the next several month stuck with a modem connection. I just found isba (a nice ipfilter GUI with remote ruleset management). After playing around for some minutes I generated a FreeBSD port.

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.
