More tzfile madness. I'm not reading in one part of the file apparently. It'll all work out in the end I'm sure. I'm mainly posting this entry so my sister can see what my diary is like. Hi Carey!

A totally kick-ass day. Duncan met me for Japanese food on Newbury St., and he showed me around the Ximian offices. It was there that I came to the hard realization that I'm still a fanboy and need lots of practice. I'm proudly wearing my new Ximian shirt. Summer wraps up in the next three days, which is really hard to believe. Once things settle into the same-ol, same-ol of life back in California (albeit senior year), I'll be able to some real hacking. Famous last words for me, it seems. It's time for pictures, notes, and goodbyes, *sigh*.

It seems that I'm falling further and further down the slippery slope of not sleeping in any sane pattern. (It's 8 AM here, and I'm not yet asleep)

jonallen: Sounds good, if you have any questions about the site, mail jdub or me.

Some sawfish.org muckage, some nautilus.gnome.org planning, and some tzfile frustration. Extra unread data at the end of the file doesn't sound like a good thing to me. My summer is rapidly coming to a close, finals on Thursday. Hopefully I'll get to meet some my bostonian irc friends before I go though.

I made some progress towards my XST goal, well-documented binary files are surprisingly easy to read. I'm sure that I'm going to be longing for python again before long though...

Hmm, August, two weeks left till finals... Yesterday I updated sawfish.org, Sawfish 1.0 was only announced three weeks late ;) Today I'm doing the laundry and reading tzfile(5). Wheeeee.

srl: Thanks, I'll take a look, I do have to figure out how to parse them though, as chema thinks that the best way for me to learn about this and XST is to parse them myself.

Today I was the guy playing guitar for "Dmitry and the DMCA" at the Boston Park St. T stop. We had a good turnout, >30 people, a lot of fliers, and hopefully some more informed non-geeks.

srl: Are you going to the Monday protest? Are there any other Advogato-ers (word?) that are?

Hack:
Ugh, I really really really don't want to have to figure out how to parse /usr/share/zoneinfo, using ctime would be so much easier... /me sighs.

Web:
I've got my account on sawfish.org, not much going on with nautilus.gnome.org, need to talk to jdub about that.

Real Life:
It's been a crappy day, for reasons which I'd rather not go into detail here.

Web:
After asking about support for a website for Nautilus scripts, themes, etc. jdub and I worked out a plan for what will hopefully become nautilus.gnome.org. See nautilus-list for more details. I also talked to OctobrX quickly about doing something with sawfish.org. Stay tuned....

Hack:
Chema has been guiding me through the wonderful world of the Ximian Setup Tools recently, and I've been working on time-admin. Time skews a-plenty. Ugh.

T -7 Hours for the Boston protest, which will hopefully get a nice turnout. If you're in the Boston area, the protest will start at the Park St. T stop at 12:00. See here for the dirt.

I joined the EFF today, and have been trying to recruit people for a Free Sklyarov protest in Boston.
