I have some debs in my local repository for those who want to build coaster on debian unstable. Both libbakery and libburn are at http://debian.dersoldat.org. The bakery ones are made by me, so if there are issues with those, make sure to contact me and not SID's packager about them. These only exsist for the use of the coaster project at this time. libburn is a different story. Those will someday be uploaded into unstable proper. Test, test, test, all you can. Would like to have most of the issues crushed before upload.

UPDATE: Also just threw up some ppc builds of bakery and libburn. Thanks to Bryan for this. The ppc debs are in the same location as the others.

Just finished merging my gtk branch of libcoaster into the main branch. Now that this big part is done I can move closer to a release. I feel a lot of developmental momentum on my part and can't wait to see the project unfold more.

Now that the biggest part of libcoaster is out of the way, I can put focus onto packaging libburn. The package will not be put into unstable until 0.3 is released, but I plan to get 0.2 packages up in my repo for the meantime. Might think about starting a libcoaster package as well, altho I think the 0.1.x branch may stay in experimental until it hits 0.2.

So ya, advogato is back. I have been working on setting up pyblosxom. Not sure if I will keep it up now that advogato is back in action.

Happy 4th to all Americans. Drink lots of beer and eat lots of burgers, but don't catch the house on fire with those fireworks.

Pushing a libcoaster release in the next few days. Hopefully after that we can push coaster-gui out as well. Also waiting on a libburn 0.3 release so I can throw it into Debian.

Got wireless in the house now. Sure beats using the pcmcia 10/100 card with the dongle cable that always breaks. Works outside pretty well too.

Not much has been going on in the 'puter land for myself. Been enjoying the nicer weather outside and trying to look not so much like a cave dweller anymore.

I have now started to port the old libglade code in libcoaster over to gtk code. This will make the library much nicer for outside access. Most of our API is in place and I hope we can push 0.1 out the door by the end of the month.

Fedora comedy? Not sure to how much of this is true. I am not currently a Fedora user.

Coaster had a meeting today with the libburn and optymistic crowd. Goals have been set for libcoaster's first developmental snapshot release. The goal is by the end of the month. Once the mail is archived somewhere, I will post a link.

So I have been pretty quiet in the blogging area as of late, but have been doing a number of things.

Coaster is now under going a major server change. I have been running coaster-burn.org on my home connection. I went ahead and purchased a new linode and am now in the process of transfering everything over to the new linode.

Coaster has been seeing a ton of development lately. I had to branch off a new module for coaster-gui called coaster-gui--main--0.1.1 since 0.1 broke. All development is going on in 0.1.1 now. libcoaster is getting functional as well. Matt has put a lot of work into it and it is looking nice code wise. Once we decide what we want in the first release, we will be pushing out a developmental snapshot.

Most of the other time has been spent on getting the laptop up to par. Currently playing with NFS for music files, video files, and pictures. I am getting ready to play with laptop-net and offlineimap for the rest.

Back to hacking!

Arch is still messed up in coaster-gui. I will tear it apart and start fresh tomorrow. This means everyone is going to have to re-get the tree.

Ohio State spring game this weekend. Hopefully my buddies will remember to get the tickets.

I am now home from Penguicon 2.0. Accually, I have been home since about 9 last night. Didn't sleep much over the weekend, but all in all, I had fun. All my talks had good turnout. The best ones where Gnome and Rhythmbox. A ton of wuestions where thrown my way the entire weekend, mostly about Debian and Gnome. It was great seeing Maddog twice in one week, and having the time to sit down and talk a bit more with him. Also spent the entire time chilling with the arstechnica guys. Awesome group. Shall return next year with a few more talks.

Now that I am home, I can get some new coaster screenies up. Also need to dig through all the accumulated mail from the weekend and see what I missed.

At the Penguincon. Having a good time staying awake as long as possible. My wireless card didn't work, so am using a loaner right now.

It is almost 8am, and I am just about ready to head up to Novi, Mich. for Penguincon with my new laptop in hand. Oh ya, and a wireless card.
