So I was going to see how useful ifolder was going to be for me but I cannot get simias to compile on my ubuntu box. I don't want a central server, but a p2p setup and I thought this could be done through bonjour.

On to another project...

Steelers won! I don't want to talk about OSU. Other then that, my weekend is not too bad. Decided to relax today after my roommate and I went to BW3s to watch the Steelers. Totally not like me for a Sunday. I figured it was time to sit down and look at some stale projects of mine and close or update them.

I have been spending a lot of time reorganizing files between oses and between desktop and laptop. Once everything is synced the way I want, It will allow me to be able to maintain projects a little better then I do now.

Not sure what projects are going to become priority, but I am planning on working more on Gnome overall then just specific areas. Now that 2.12 is out the door, I want to see some more media specific things come in 2.14 like better ipod and disc support.

OHIO STATE FOOTBALL is here! OH...-----...IO!!!! Fuck ya...ready, so ready...if the Buckeyes and the Steelers win big this year, I will die a fucking happy man. GO BUCKS!!!!

Google Talk using Jabber. This is great for us in the open source world. This will make the 6th IM account I own. I have been running my own jabber server on dersoldat.org for awhile. I guess using google talk will not hurt anything either. My name there is harshymann_AT_gmail.com.

I figure a update about my life and Coaster is needed.

Currently Coaster is still somewhat idle as Bryan works on setting up a arch mirror of his audio work. Once this is ready, I can start to kill some of the bugs in bugzilla. We still do not have a official release date, but I am hoping that it will be soon then later.

The Ohio LinuxFest is almost here! I post a link to the LXer article the other day. The event location has been confirmed at the Columbus Convention Center in Columbus Ohio. We are closing on the deadline for talk submissions, so if you wish to spread knowledge, get over to the site and submit a talk. This is is very promising as we are being backed by Novell, Digium, and a handful of other companies.

I am making plans to head up to Boston for the Summit to meet up with some old friends and meet some of the other Gnome hackers I know. I seem to be bringing a ton of arstechnica people with me as well. Should be fun.

Life for me has been rather interesting the last few few weeks. Since I moved out of my parents, I have found it hard to make ends meet entirely the way I wish. I guess I live a very expensive lifestyle. Got to have a nice car and nice toys. I also tend to drink a bit more then I should thus costing me an arm and a leg. I am still looking for other job opportunities in Columbus, but since all I have is experience and no education, I seem to be stuck doing jobs that I don't find interesting. I am currently looking at an IE position at UPS in hopes that it makes me more money and allows me to do more of what I like to do computer wise. Their IE is almost like IT, only there is a lot more flow planning then computer development. That would probably be in the TSG department.

We shall see how things go and I only hope that I can get working on Coaster soon. Been itching to hack on something.

Great news has arrived. http://lxer.com/module/newswire/view/41210/index.html If you plan to come to this year's event, pass this along to everyone and anyone you can.

Sometimes I just love my job at UPS. Here is one of many employees having fun. What can brown do for me?...well...she can touch my package any day.

Jorge posted about the hackfest we had in Detriot. It was a shitload of fun seeing that I was there to bless this cake in the name of the Gnome Foundation. Your awesome Kattni!

I am still working on the Wordpress migration of my blog. For some odd reason, the way they have the themes setup gives me a headache. I have managed to get the header setup the way I wish, but I still have to decide how I want to do the sidebar. There is still work to be done on body text like posts and regular pages. You can preview it here.

I have started working on the many bug in Gnome's bugzilla for Coaster. I am hoping I can get my ass moving just enough to get most of those closed by the next release in a few weeks. As always, don't hold me to it. I seem to like it outside and like to drink more come summer.

I am sorry about Engineer Scotty from StarTrek. He was always my favorite character, even to know I am not a big ST fan.

Figure I will join the crowd with this.

I am James T. Kirk. I know my boss at work would get a kick out of that because he is a big old school trek fan.

Ubuntu Detroit was a lot of fun and I thank everyone for having me up there. It was great seeing people again and meeting new ones. It has really made me proud of the projects and groups I am assosiated with. Ubuntu, Debian, and Gnome are great projects. I love working with them and hope everyone there the best of luck. Kattni made us a Gnome cake which I have pictures of and will post when I get wordpress working right.

Yes I know the image will not show up on the page. It is one reason to migrate my blog to wordpress.

In Detroit doing a bit of hacking with fellow Ubuntu fellows. Weather was horrid on the drive up. It rained so hard once I hit downtown, the roads flooded, I lost my muffler from the force of hitting the water, and finally stalled out for 20min till the car could start once again. Other then that, I made it ok. Just have to patch up the muffler real quick before I leave for the weekend.

Not sure what is on the hacking list...kind tired from work then the drive up here, maybe I will take a nap and think over what needs done. Stay tuned.

Coaster arch is now synced with gnome cvs. Hopefully it all works out well with the translations in the end. Bryan is hoping to get 0.1.5 out the door by end of month or so.

Going back up to Detroit to attend a Ubuntu hackfest of sorts. Going to make the drive tonight after work and should arrive around noon or so. Hopefully some well needed work will be done on certain...projects.
