Older blog entries for harold (starting at number 3)

Went to sleep at 7am, got up at 2pm. Took the day off; after all it is Super Bowl Sunday. Sat around and watched the game and had a good time. I then watched some DVDs that we rented for about 8 or so hours and came into the office.

Spidermonkey, dude. That's all I have to say.

Did get my web page finished, it sucks as you might expect, but I've noticed that most other hackers don't care much about their web pages either.

Ruler support is in Achtung and working flawlessly. I also wrote the notes view (the simplest view) and started the slide sorter view. It somewhat existed in the old version but it's proving to me much more difficult to do in the new one.

I also got a copy of PowerPoint 2000 and noticed that they don't have any grid support from what I could find at close glance, although they do have a bunch of other really cool stuff.

More spidermonkey and Helix administrative stuff while the big boys are out of the office. I'd like to talk about it, but you know how it is...

Well, I'm a big fat liar. I didn't sleep last night except for a little nap around 6pm, so I will no longer be making predictions about my sleep schedule here. "Not a long night" my ass.

After I woke up, ate, and did some administrative stuff, I did a little more work on spidermonkey, but spent most of my time hacking rulers into Achtung. It works fully except for a little problem with zooming out a lot. This is a limitation in GtkRuler, and I'll probably end up subclassing it to fix the problem. By and large, though, it's looking nice. Oh, thanks to Chris Lahey for some convenient insight.

Next up for me and Achtung is hacking in grid support. I'd like to take a look at PowerPoint 2000 to see how/if they do it, but alas, I don't have a copy. If anyone has a screenshot they could send, please mail me.

Lastly, I spent most of the morning putting together a web page for myself and one for Achtung. I'll try to get the latter up with screenshots and whatnot later this afternoon.

Finally got my advogato account set up...

My first half of the day consisted of hacking on spidermonkey, which is nearing completion. Since I had to wake up as early as I did today, I don't think I'll be pulling a long night tonight
