Shit, it's been a long time. What was I thinking - last time I posted, I thought Linux was going to make big moves on the desktop, spread like wild fire in the enterprise, blabla.

Now I'd just like to see it in my refridgerator. If anyone knows of someone or if you are writing Linux apps for the fridge, let me know, I'd like to help out in some way. Thanks.

Since I haven't posted in my diary yet, I thought I would post the latest numbers on the adoption of desktop Linux. Everyone has seen the wonderful server numbers, but I think this is an area where we'll see huge growth over the next few years!!

Client shipments of Linux (IDC):

1999: 1,213,000 2000: 1,510,000 Growth from 99-2000: 24.5%

% Share of client market: 1999: 1.3% 2000: 1.5 %
