So tired... worked all day, but at least I work for myself :-) ... kinda fun, working when you know it's for yourself. Spent the whole day, making our systems RPM based... every file on the system can be traced back to an rpm ... wierd

I officially became a Board Member of BroadConnect Inc, a company that makes GNU/Linux VPN Solutions. The first product is the BroadRunner, a Windows to GNU/Linux VPN, it allows windows clients to VPN through a GNU/Linux firewall, and browse there MS WindowsNT networks...

I was asked to write an article for LinuxMonth.Com, and it is going to be published on Monday... I was asked to write about Open Source licenses, so I wrote about the GPL, and MPL.

It's always really really nerve racking to me, to publish an article. There is always somone out there that knows more than you, and I often wonder if something I wrote was incorrect... well I'm sure if something is wrong, I will get lots of email.

With "Open Source" "Free Software" and licensing, always being contested, it should be interesting to see what people have to say to me... I really hope i get at least one of them "Nice article" emails

Yesterday at a company meeting, The President of the Company told me he was very happy with the technical end of our business, that felt good, cause I am responsible for that end, as newly appointed CTO :-)

Going out to vote.... it sucks that this system doesn't work on Popular Vote.. the electoral concept is a bunch of crap... I'm voting for Nader, not because I like his views, but because I think it is absolutely insane that we only have 2 parties... 2 people, representing one country... it's a big country... Well to bad Linus wasn't running.... Guess he couldn't run anyway cause he wasn't born here... Who's the next best Linux Evangelist to be the US President?

Wow... been a long time since I've been to the site... I got so busy, between work and school and life, that I actually forgot about my diary.. so to quickly catch up

Built a GNU/Linux Firewall/VPN server for the company I now work for called BroadConnect. Our clients love it, it even resolves WINS, so they can browse the network neighborhood or use there Outlook Clients from home

Starting the first ever GNU User Group, first meeting is going to be on next Tuesday, and we are gonna be feature in Brave GNU World

Still in school :-(... taking an excellent Shell Scripting class :-)

Still love my Girlfriend, but recently fell in love with GNOME

The most important thing for me in life, is to do what I "WANT" to be doing, and this is never more important than when you are looking for employment.. the so called best offer, or highest price is not the place I wanna be. I like where I work now, I come in in warm-ups and a T-shirt and walk around the office bear foot, while coding and configuring linux systems.

I asked a friend last night, "Would you work for a pharmacutical company, that made an over the counter drug, that was known to cause birth defects, if they offered you $60,000 and a plushy middle management positoin"... to my sad suprise he said yes... I guess some people don't mix money with morals.

Watched the Vice Presidential Debate last night, really liked what Cheany had to say consider he is part of the big two. This system is slowly going to hell, but he has good ideas about Investing Social Security.

I've been contributing to Social Security for the last 6 years, and I will never see it... I want this system to change as soon as possible... I don't wanna pay SS for another 20 years, to have them change the policy then, hell I"ll sue the Federal Government if I get screwed out of Social Security, if they don't do something to change the problem immediately.

Been a while since I posted an entry.. getting really busy, which is good when it comes to work, and bad when it comes to school. I wake up happy everyday cause I see myself in a really good place in like 5 years... car broke down, but shit happens, I'll get it fixed, no big deal. The brakes went, but at least I caught them before I killed someone...

Crazy Weekend... time to pull my life together... Want to start deploying this gnu/linux gateway box, I developed for my company on Thurs... still have some rough ends to work out... Have 2 midterms next Tuesaday... weekend was interesting... I love my girlfriend, but... this wasn't the best of weekends for us.

I was thinking of setting up a machine and give root access to all the members of the GNU User Group, and we can work together to secure and enhance the machine... just a thought
