Well I am starting to work for my old consulting company on Tuesday.. which is good, cause I have Tues off from school, and the boredom is killing me

Good news too.... the reason why I was not happy going back to DRJ (the consultanting company in Albany) is cause I work so often with WINDOWS.. well I was told

"Hey the first thing I"m gonna have you working on is some linux stuff. I was talking to a guy who wants to sell a whole bunch of your Linux boxes"..... Alright, LINUX STUFF !!!!

One reason I enjoy working in the Windows world however, is to learn how there world works, and see what programs users are stuck on.. right now it's Outlook and Exchange server that keeps WinNT in business...

First day of classes... school just gets easy to handle each year... welp last year.

Putting together editorial content for SpokenSource, excited that the author of a Brave GNU World wanted to write something in it.

Coding came to a halt sometime last week, need to get motivated to code again.

Did a bit of computing on my local network (my house)... got 2 CSI majors, and an MSI major in this house so I built a Red Hat machine that we can all use as a developement machine... made everyone accounts and started teaching the MSI kid some GNU/Linux

Well my money is running out, so off to find a part-time college computing job... well actually it may be time to go back to my consulting job, where I was told, the first thing I can work on is a Windows to Linux VPN solution, which is all fine and dandy but really means, "Hey work on VPN, in between your windows consulting calls.." There are alot of benefits for working at DRJ, my Boss is perhaps the greatest guy in the world... I just don't like working with Windows, and more importantly don't like working with Windows users.

So I'm gonna email out some resume's to do some linux stuff, and we'll see what happens.

Back to computing again finally... mostly publishing type stuff, new website is getting closer to launch time, coming up with content.

Me and Ghod are finally putting together our second website. It is kind of a monthly magazine about the Open Source scene and community.

One of the things we'd like to do is some feature on Open Source PROJECTS, and not just the big well known ones, the little ones to.

If you'd like to help us write up an article or an interview about your project, contact me, send an email to gnuchris@linuxlock.org

Man, being very productive in the mornings and very lazy in the evenings, this week is my little vacation... Certified some people today, they were obvious choices, didn't realize ESR and Alan, and Miquel all use this thing.

My room is finally starting to get clean, got some major tasks done yesterday, gotta get some done today.... making more time for computing, hope to have time to actually code, by the end of the week. Moving back to Albany was harder than I thought.

Crazy Weekend.. Moved back to Albany, partied all weekend, Topped off by watching Perl Jam tonight. Have to get a lot of stuff done this week, but have lots of time... should do a fair amount of coding this week.

My last day of work

I have nothing to do here, so I'm spending the day reading everything on the GNU site... I love Brave GNU World. I'm thinking about getting the logo tatoo'd on my shoulder... I encourage you all to read throught the GNU site when you get a chance, it's a good way to find even more reasons to support Free Software

I think I want to change my University's LUG, I don't think we should have a Linux User Group, but rather a GNU User Group... fortunately enough, I'm in the position to do that.

I just wanted to check out the Person Tag... so Hi Ghod! Good news for you, I have a whole summer's worth of ideas to discuss with you.

My last two days of work... dunno how I feel about the whole situation. I am very greatful for having this job, the more gnu/linux experience the better... also it was satisfying... when there are gnu/linux questions I'm on the top tier of people asked... not bad for an intern at a company that uses Linux as the basis of thier products. But on the flip side I wouldn't call them a GNU/Linux Company of an Open Source company... I mean over here they just use GNU/Linux for thier products, not to much giving back, and not that much Open Sourcing going on... but hey GNU/Linux does make a great server Operating System, and they know that, and utilize it.

This is my last year at college, which means I have to start thinking about my career... I really want to work for an Open Source company, and I'm gonna try my hardest to do just that... the thought of working for someone like Anderson Consulting or Paine Webber (like most CS graduates at my school), turns my stomach. Though I do tell myself, that if I do have to take a job with a company like that, the money is good, and I can code Open Source at night.

For as long as I can remember I've wanted to work for myself, start a small business of some kind... I have this great idea to create a software company that creates Open Source software aimed at Small Business Consultants.. I was a consultant for awhile and know exactly what kind of software they need, and I think there is a lucrative market for it, I just don't particular wanna solicit for funding, and I'd definately need some funding, so maybe I'll hook up with the right person who will want to do the funding end of things...

I'm trying to make a conscious effort to call "linux".. GNU/LINUX... I had this revalation the other night, and RMS is right, it is GNU/LINUX... I won't try to persuade people to say it though, either you get it or you don't.
