well, BibleTime now runs on MacOSX :)

looking at CLucene to see if it possible and worth packaging for Debian. It looks like it needs a bit of work to get it working with unicode (either UTF-8 or UTF-16) like the java version does.

no further with getting a PangoGlyphString out of SILGraphite. Need to do some thinking about suggestions for improving the API.

hmmm, well, got a little patch for pango that adds PANGO_SCRIPT_PREFFERED - if a module covers PANGO_SCRIPT_PREFERRED then it will be chosen before an exact script match or an exact common match or any fallback. Want to think about it a little more before I submit it though.

Using that, and my patch for fontconfig fontconfig bug 105 which allows detection of graphite ttf table and some opentype features have made the beginnings of the silgraphite module for pango, Have the covers function so that if the font isn't a graphite font it should fallback to using the shaper engine that would otherwise have been used.

Now all I need to do it get a PangoGlyphString from silgraphite (for the silgraphite shaper function) and find out if graphite is stable enough for heavy usage like this.

Debian

Got caught up on some packaging today. sword 1.5.7 with new lib version got accepted and promptly found that libcurl had changed so half the buildds failed. uploaded 1.5.7-2 to cope with that. Uploaded latest BibleTime and GnomeSword as well.

Might package the Gentium font for non-free, (or for wherever non-free ends up if/when it gets removed from Debian.

SILGraphite

trying to decide what to try now, and what questions I need to ask about where to get pango to decide to call a silgraphite module shaper.

Planet Advogato?

Hmmm, don't know if anyone is going to read this but Planet Debian and Planet Gnome are looking pretty good now and have RSS feeds (so I can use Straw or whatever :) to get them)

Is there any chance anyone could make a Planet Advogato that could provide a feed of recent diary entries, preferably on a separate server since Advogato seems a bit slow from here sometimes?

P.S. gnome-blog make this blogging so easy even I can manage to say something.

Got SILGraphite font compiler running on macosx today so thats a little bit of progress. Now we just need someone to write something so that font developers can write stuff once and generate Graphite, OpenType and AAT font capabilities from one source.

KDE on MacOSX is looking good. Maybe I'll have a go at getting BibleTime running on it soon.

New Advogato Features

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.

Keep up with the latest Advogato features by reading the Advogato status blog.
