What is an intuitive way to navigate through a 3 dimensional immersive first-person environment? This environment includes some 2D gui elements and even some command line windows if desired. Even a non gamer must easily get used to it. Dedicate a joystick device to navigation? Or have a mouse button dedicated to slipping in and out of a mouse navigation mode? A hot key sequence that activates keyboard+mouse navigation?
