I am working over in the CA, wasting time before I track a reasonably nasty bug in some old code. Well... <sigh> I had better get around this.
I also started on a project to speed one aspect of my code up - it was much easier than I thought!
Back in london. I wonder if there are any other bioperlers or bioinformaticians on advogato...
Today I spent helping Barley (girlfriend) move her stuff in preparation for going to central america. Lots of stuff to move into cellars etc. When she comes back we should be moving into a flat together in london. Whey-Hey! (I think!)
Set up people with accounts on bio.perl.org which is always nice Another project gets started (bioperl-das-client) and people are much more likely to work together these days
I have to finish off an article for IBM systems journal and I've just got another request for a vision style article. Hmmmm. I must be losing my coding touch.
Ian should be on this. I'll suggest it to him.
Came into the house, and dan has left it like a tip! Geez. Tidied the front room. yes - you guessed it - the TV does not work and I have some "proper" work to do. Hence work avoidance.
Andrew Dalke kindly upgraded me to journeyman status as did someone else (Zachgarner - who I don't know - did he just browse my home page? Or does he know me?) I am thinking about posting an article about bioinformatics. Might as well let people know we are out here. "Hacking the genome..."
Better go for a run and see if I can burn out some of these calories.
Must do some ...serious... work today
Zach Garner explained that he just thought I was worthy of status. Two things I now want on advogato
No code. Not one line. But I kicked off some scripts, and learnt about the command line tool "split"
In addition I worked on getting Wise2 2.1.22c out of the door. Little bug fixes. Nice to get it out though
There are some virtual contig bugs to be tracked down inside Ensembl. Grrrrrrrrrrr.
