Cool. I have an job interview on Tuesday. Cross your fingers!

I wish I could go to the Ottawa Linux Symposium... *sigh*

OK. A handful of potential jobs have come and gone. No real interviews, just screening interviews by recruiters. I have been unemployed for a whole year now.
Heh.

Tomorrow I have an initial, preliminary phone interview for a job. Yeah!

I am still looking for a job. It has been over ten months now. I am a UNIX/Linux, object-oriented Perl 5, SQL (Oracle or MySQL), CGI kinda person with many other interests. -- ebizo

A very bad week. No calls or emails about job opportunities. No positive responses to my enquiries. Several emails with bad news.

My wonderful life it ain't.

Last week was a good week for hits on my resume and close fits in terms of my job experience. This week is slow. I doubt any of the companies to which I have applied lately, or even any of the companies that have contacted me in the past fortnight will ever hire me. That's just the way it is. I am awful at marketing myself.

I also don't do well in situations where (potential) coworkers prefer to avoid all forms of contact or communication.

Maybe I can get a job that rolls together all my professional work in web applications development, a BA in linguistics, and an almost-completed master's degree in the computer (information retrieval) side of library science?

(I now realize that I should edit at a decent hour the entries I write at 4am.)

It keeps seeming like I have one or more good chances for a couple weeks, then my hopes get dashed again for a couple weeks... rinse and repeat.

Still no job for me.

Surprise! I'm still unemployed.

I wonder if maybe I might spontaneously combust.

I wouldn't have to keep looking for a job.

If I got hit by a car and lived, I'd still have to look for a job to pay for my medical bills.
