Well, it has been some time since I've had much to with the internet, unfortunately. The move down to my parents' place went well, but being stuck on the end of a 33K modem has been hellish. I was used to the luxury of T1.

Most things are still on hold, including my promise to help out a little bit on the `luis' project, and getting some materials together to launch `open design'. In fact, at the moment I am having second thoughts about this.

I have been offered a nice job at a company where they actually work a 40-hour week. If I decide to accept it, I will have a lot more hacking time than I have been used to.... Tempting.

Life has been very hectic indeed.

I finally got that call concerning the house that I've been waiting for all this time, and so I must move out and go back to London. I've been granted an extra week, but this is still only about 10 days notice to move all my stuff 200 miles. Given my position with my PhD write-up this is an awkward problem. It remains to be seen how well I will be able to work from my parents' place, and how much I will be able to get finished before I am forced into taking a job.

Currently, therefore, everything but my PhD and the minimum amount of work I need to do to prepare my OT2000 conference session on emergent properties is on hold. This is a shame, because I am really looking forward to getting some materials online for the open design project.
