This is my first entry after opening my account here, so I'm going to bring you up to speed :-).

Project coding started six months ago, and continues to go well. I have the support and assistance of an enthusiastic crowd: Matthew Itkin, Arguelles Rius, Andy Sloane, Michael Krause, and many others. We're working hard to retain the spirit of Buzz and bring it to the UNIX platform.

I recently began work on the GUI, and was able to post a screenshot last night.

What's working now:

  • Tracker-oriented audio plugin API, with named parameters, text feedback, formatting and control GUI hints, and more.
  • Audio subsystem using OSS
  • Signal network of interconnected modules
  • Several example plugins
  • Utility functions such as note2freq() for system-wide tuning
  • The beginnings of the GUI
