I received a patch that implements ZeroConf support into GnomeMeeting. It has been applied and will be available in the 1.2 release. That is very convenient to discover GnomeMeeting friends on your network. That was an interesting idea given by Alex here. I'm happy to see it was so fast to implement it.
GnomeMeeting and GAIM integration
Several people have showed an interest to see GnomeMeeting integrated with popular instant messengers. Julien Puydt had started coding a DBUS component for GnomeMeeting and that component will be available in the 1.2 release. He had also started creating a plugin for GAIM, so that GAIM Linux users can start videoconferences from their Instant Messenger. He tried to get help from GAIM developers, discussed with them and their answer was clear, they are not interested in that plugin and won't support it. <irony>Nice example of cooperation.</irony> That would have been great even if it wouldn't have been compatible with Windows clients, at least as long as GnomeMeeting doesn't support SIP.
GnomeMeeting and SIP
It's progressing!
Life
I had two superb evenings last week with two of my best friends. We had two days off so we decided to spend the evenings together and it was really fun. The bad side is that it remembered me the time when I was still a student, unfortunately that will never happen again...
