IRL: Popped down to London yesterday and eventually managed to find a couple of trousers I liked which means my mother shouldn't moan at me any more about the state of my old trousers. I also managed to pick up a set of juggling clubs to practice with. I seem able to juggle them but I could really do with improving.

We also went to Highgate cemetery where Karl Marx and George Elliot are buried. It is quite a peaceful place, but it costs 2GBP to get in and you can't take in cameras. We also attempted to see the Matrix Reloaded at the IMAX theatre but it was sold out for the first showing and we couldn't really wait for the next showing as we would have missed our train back home. We will have to book it for another weekend.

Debian:

Well I fixed #202628 last night. I just need to find someone to sponser and upload it now.

I need to set up my workstation today and get pbuilder working correctly on it. I wonder if it is possible to specify a woody or a sid pbuilder envirnoment. That would certainly be useful.

Okay I've been busy back at work for the last couple of days. Need to build lots of workstations in the near future.

I've been considering getting a colo box. I think I can afford the running costs for a while if I can get some people to help out. The question is how much can I build a 1U box for. I think I should be able to build something for 300-400GBP. I need to pay for setup costs and I think a month in advanced. Should be doable for 500GBP startup. Hopefully I should be able to provide any service that someone wants given that a) the request is sensible (no telnetd :)) and b) they offer a decent price.

okay now I'm annoyed. I was meant to be taking a BA flight home at 20:15 tonight, but it has been cancelled due to a unoffical strike at London Heathrow. As a result I'm sitting in a hotel waiting for my flight tomorrow morning at 7:35, which means I have to get up at 4:30. ho hum. BA are paying for this okay hotel and have paid up to 250NOK for my dinner. it came to 277NOK so I gave a rather large tip of 73NOK :). There is wireless around, but I don;t have a wlan card :(.

I think I'm going to go back to my room an watch Matrix on DVD and/or play with getting my Debian on a CD script working. Mostly there. I need to play around with getting the CD to boot and then add some stuff to make it work nicely with the CD drive. It probably doesn;t help that my previous sucessful attempt is sitting 2 hours flight away.

okay, I've never posted a diary before so be nie to me.

I'm currently sitting in a talk at Debconf feeling very hot, not listening to a security talk and ircing and writing this diary.
