Me and a friend om mine have used my computer for comparing the web server speed of Windows 2000 against just about everything else. We expected Windows to loose big, which it did (of course). The results are not the least surprising or funny:

  • It swallowed 55MB of memory on startup, with all unneccessary services off and no pointless stuff like the shadow under the cursor
  • The speed was a total disaster, even when writing special DLL:s to handle stuff
  • It totally erased a partition of mine, the IBM Boot Manager
There is no way in hell I am going to keep this piece of crap on my computer. If this is the best Microsoft can do, they are in deep shit. Listen to me, kids: get Linux. Now.
