Notes:
My day job is teaching mathematics at UNLV. I research operator algebras and operator spaces.
Most of my open source work is with Python on the Macintosh: see my projects page .
I run various OS on Macintosh hardware - NetBSD on some older 68k macs (one of which is a nice gateway for our home LAN), and LinuxPPC and MacOS on some newer machines.
Spent last night messing around with Python distutils on Macintosh. Learned more than I ever wanted to about path name conventions on the Mac, but overcame some of the problems there. Wrote a new version of the path normalisation routines which should return consistent results.
Current state of distutils on the Mac is that, with a bit of tweaking, it can do standard installs. C Compiler support needs serious work, though.
