Notes:

I'm a 16 year old student, very much interested in programming, free software, and general techno-y stuff. I've been using computers since as long as I can remember, the interest and wonder never really wore off. My first computer was an Apple Mac LC, which I enjoyed the wonders of Hypercard on. Over the years I've had a number of Macs, and only recently I have become interested in the GNU/Linux/Free Software, when a friend of mine got me hooked up with LinuxPPC. Ever since then, I've been in love. While my contributions to free software have been pretty small, I look forward to helping out more in the future. I've got a ton of great ideas in my head, but I'm still developing the needed skills to implement them.

Haven't updated in a bit, my personal life has been quite busy, along with my work-life. I just started my first day of Middle College on the 9th, it's...interesting.

Anyways, not a ton to say right now...

I'd like to welcome AArthur to advogato. His iMaclinux.net and iBooklinux.net sites are highly useful for a large number of people, and even though his contributions haven't been in code, they're just as useful.

I just got a new book a few hours ago, "Algorithms with C++"--a friend recommended it, hope it's good...Also, I'm very excited about Linux World Expo, which I'm going to tomorrow: ) woo! I can't wait to hang out with aaronl, and mishan, at LWE. Whoot.

Well, I just finished up some newbie GtkHx docs. Things should feel a little more real for GtkHx, now that it's got at least SOME form of documentation. I figure Misha, along with whoever adds more features, can continue to add to the docs. I'll be adding an advanced features section later, but for now it's purely new-to-hotline stuff...Something that's gotta be there if GtkHx expects to have anyone besides past Hotline users.

Wow, I drink a whole lot of soda. It's not even the real stuff, just "Simply Soda: Cola". Now it's time to go over stuff for finals, as we get out on Wensday...Yay. No more highschool for me, next year I'm going to this "Middle College" program, offered by a local community College. I'm giving some serious thought to buying myself a really nice laptop, that way I can spend more time/better time on campus.

Been a good month or so, working pretty hard finishing up my highschool stuff. We get out on Thursday, the 8th. I figured it was about time to update this advogato page...

Anyways, in case you're wondering who I am...Well, I'm a 16 year old student, currently very interested in the linux and open source revolution. I got turned on to the stuff mainly by two friends of mine, aaronl, and mishan. Right now I don't have much time to experiment with fun stuff, school's getting in the way of my education. Either way, I'll be doing a lot more come summer, come my new job, and some new and fun experiences :)

New Advogato Features

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.

Keep up with the latest Advogato features by reading the Advogato status blog.
