Notes: Bio

I'm a student of the Computer Engineering degree @ the University of Beira Interior, Portugal. My interests are tech related (C, Java, Python, Ruby, PHP), along with music (basically Indie Rock) and literature (F. Kafka, E. Ionesco, etc.), also some sci-fi (Orson Scott Card, Neal Stephenson,...) and fantasy (JRR Tolkien).

projects

I am sysadmin for the server of the "computer related" students @ my univ and I do some translating for Linux Mandrake and Nautilus for Gnome and am currently doing for the Portuguese Linux Internationalization Project - POLI.

The comference was ok. A lot of questions, a few interesting.

weeeeeeeeeeeee a holiday!

So... We finally got our hard drive for the server... a 40Gb Seagate 7200rpm.

After trying Debian and OpenBSD, I basically installed the firewall solution by mdk and I hope it's going to work properly.

The Comference is almost here and I still haven't made the new presentation... nor I will today...

Today I will SLEEP!

The comference was just fine... I met alot of interesting and resourceful people, talked about tech stuff and the next OzzFest and dEUS concerts and got to know some of the people that I respect alot from they're work, like Mario Gamito or Paulo Trezentos.

Some of the new stuff I have now to read and to re-write some of the stuff on eBeatrix is:

It's been a while :D... let's get this thing updated:

* eBeatrix will be presented at the 3rd Portuguese Comference of Linux Users, next 18th. I'm really excited for having a chance to show something interesting that I've doing for quite a while now. Anyway, there's also another invitation by the University of Evora for presenting there the same project. I'm thrilled :D

* I'm using now a changed version of blackbox, where the standard bar has been removed and, instead, it calls gnome's panel and gmc. It's fast and practical. Screenshot here.

* I finally bought a iBook, a month ago. Specs here . Screenshot here .
