Quartz and UIK are so much better than Crystal. I want a Sony-Ericsson P800. Ouh. and that contract for syslog processing and stats are in good shape, there is a big chance that we will made it.

My car is still broken. :/ car insurance companies sux.

BTW, advodiary is cool.

Argh. We (me and my wife) got involved in a car crash. our poor litle car got smashed in the process yesterday late at night (10pm). :/

hundreds of RAS's SYSLOGs converging to just one place to be processed and analysed. just some terabytes of data. and we have just 2 quad-450MHZ SUN Enterprises.

Verde666 is leaving Conectiva, will marry and move to Florianópolis, SC, in front of the beach (to work with Python). It's the end of world as we know it.

WORK Well. We worked untill 3AM monday. And my flight was 7:30am tuesday, who needs to sleep? worked all day @TIM Rio de Janeiro, our app worked (almost) flawlessly, made only on the emulator. *cool*. One problem: only 9600 BPS... argh. but our little trial went well.

"UML, XML, SAX, DOM, SOAP, CORBA, RPC, .NET. Oh how I hate these buzzwords ;) But it's ok. I'm enjoying my new job.". Duh. ruda is exposed for the first time to the corporate world. Heh. 3 months in a TELCO company gave me eons more experience in that acronym-swamp. BTW, I'm also enjoying my new job.

We (me, ruda and kojima) are working in a TRIAL for a big brasilian bank for tomorrow(!!). acidbase, gwm and eliphas are working in another contract (with YA bank). yep, buzzword- compliant work: GSM, 3G CELL PHONES, PKI, XML, UML projects, SAX parsers, SOAP, cryptic OSes (Symbian), C++, Java, blah, blah, blah. It's the wonderful new mobile corporate world. (BTW, that Nokia Comunicator is a brick, but I want one, too :))

My wife now wants a vacation trip. oh well.

Heh. So much time, so much happened. I worked 3 months as 'specialist consultant for Arbor' in Global Village Telecom, making C programs in HPUX interfacing other systems with Arbor (iuck).

In the mean time we opened our own firm, Haxent (http://haxent.com), with ruda, gwm, acidbase, eliphas and kojima, we closed some contracts with Terra (Terra Lycos) and some smallers companies, and now we commited our whole team with MobileIQ, working with SymbianOS development (C++ and Java).

Almost a month now, yet without a job. It's not that jobs doesnt exist, the problem is to find a job that pays *right*. Heh. in the positive side, I have *plenty* more time to hack .br and wildweb.. but I'm not doing that at all. (why?) :/

Fiuu!! What a change. I've got 'adjusted' in the Conectiva's process of cutting costs.

Well, I'm postponing that GeForce2 that I was planning to buy. If by any chance You know some position for a PHP developer, please send me a note about that. My resume (in Portuguese) is @http://sergio.bruder.net/curriculum.html.

*cool*. My new CPU-mobo combo arrived, I just installed my new home box, a Duron 750 with a KT133A/VIA686B motherboard. yeah, a little crappy system for today standards, but my old system was a K6II-300/ASUS Tx97E !! :)) I'm just *happy* with that new box. (@work I'm still using the backup box. Oh well)

software-side-of-things: post-COMDEX I finally managed to hack a little WildWEB. *cool*. Now I'm planning to integrate output buffering with compressing in our style engine (it's a brain dead mod. I have to setup some bench tests to validate if it have some worth), some new field types to smartform / tablemanager and a large bunch of fixes. I have to publish a new version, too. Oh, PCPA discovered the last bug in our DGN->GRASS converter. Now if ECOSCONSULT people just use the same format/features in the next .DGN submitted as the last one...

hardware-side-of-things: My work box just stopped working, I'm with the backup system. Hey! What half the memory I was used to teach us! Just use a plain black background and turn off all transparencies, voila, a usable desktop again :))

The new hardware to my home box doesnt arrived, shortage on motherboard suplies, postponed to tuesday. Oh well. :/
