Heeh. Imagine that: finally I've got my external CNC account working, only to find out my phone line dead. Without phone and aDSL :/ Now I have to wait for Telepar to fix my phone-line. Bleargh. murphy is alive and free. To complete the chaos, my work box is now booting randomly, wasting half of my time waiting for fsck's (and dont tell me about ReiserFS: I already lost 1 partition with Reiser without recovery).

finance-side-of-things: Oh. The annual insurance of my car is over (it's the right way in English?), I have to pay for another year. $Ugh$.

heavenlabs is up and operational.. Heh. Finally putting a decent configured box online. Only 2 problems still to resolve: How I'll configure my mail accounts to permit me read everything @home and @CNC, and I still cant login from outside to CNC :/, time to bug a little more sup-int people about my external account.

kernel 2.4 is plainly broken. My machine is up 1 day with it and stratus.heavenlabs have 15MB of RAM really occupied (from 196MB) and 101MB of SWAP allocated (I remember Tossati: 'It's not used, only allocated'). It's because he is not using my machine right now, with so much memory wasted, using so much SWAP without need, slow like a crawl.

Oh. So GWM is a nerd, like the entire rest of distro, like me, up @01:34am. I need some sleep now. Yesterday claudio got upset because we started to joke about Perl. Can you imagine that? So PERL SUX, who cares? Claudio :)

I need to use less my computer @home. Going to sleep everyday @5:00am is not normal.

home-side-of-things: My ADSL *finally* is instaled. I'll use the next couple days to configure my home machine with all the bell and whistles. heh. funny.

work-side-of-things: I have a blocker bug assigned. Man, what !@#$)&*@% damn bug!. If you load mod_php4 with imap and ldap modules on Apache, httpd just coredumps. The problem lies in the SSL use in the imap and ldap libraries and in the Apache program. I'm crazy about that bug. Damn it. Me and claudio just spended the whole night hunting that.

pontobr-side-of-things: I'm exchanging banners with RevistadoLinux, cool. I just wonder who have more traffic, .br or RdL :). Sad note: I havent received a dimme for the linuxmall banner until now :/ Besides that, I dont have more time for .br. :(

I just readed ralsina diary entry. Damn. I'm just down because of that situation. :/ I'll talk with Conectiva people about that (I don't have any power to change anything, but I'l do my part).

Huge news: I moved to *my* apartment. Because of that, only today my computer and my phone line reached each other. I'm connected again!! Oh, only @33k, because I'm waiting (again :/) for my ADSL line. BrasilTelecom people told me that next week I have my line instaled, up and running. Only the time will tell.

Just finished reading The Lord of the Rings, finally. I'm re-reading the first two books now, and already have some books waiting to be readed.

On the software side of things, Wildweb is coming along *realy* nice. We already have a cool style/layout system and SQL server independence, tnkx ADODB for that. I'm remaking all FORM API to include arbitrary tests to any field, and fred is doing the authentication/access control thing, ACL-based, of course. WTF is WildWeb? a framework to develop final applications web-based, written in PHP.

Already told by gwm in his diary. Layoffs@Conectiva. 30 and some got 'ajusted'. Ugh. Nobody likes that. Strange days.

Terminated RAMA Revealed yesterday (2 days to read a >800pages book is a good speed, no? :)), dont liked the "explanation" to the ramans. Bleargh.

Claudio's adsl line was fixed and broked again. In the mean time my line is working only with the internal modem. ARgh.

Conectiva Linux 6.0 will be a good distro (when it's ready), whe are busy trying to get it finished.

In the reading corner, I'm now reading "RAMA Revealed", I've readed more than 400 pages in one night.. :)

Oh. more bad news from the DSL front-line. My phoneline is in the same "hub" of claudio. As you can see in claudio's diary, his phone was broked by the telco people. now adsl AND voice arent working in claudio's phone. I'll wait this mess to finish, after that I'll buy my external modem. There is some rumors about the telco company starting to offer externals, too, I'll wait and see.

Unrelated news: I'm reading "Garden of RAMA" now (I've readed the first and the second books of RAMA in 4 days. hehe.).

My aDSL line is installed. BROADBAND! I'm addicted :) This is the good news. The bad, bad, bad news is that I'm using an internal aDSL modem (3COM HomeConnect internal PCI), that doesn't have drivers for Linux. The ATM stack is entirely in software, and 3COM doesnt released the specs. :-/. I'll order my external adsl modem ASAP.

Adding the strange list hardware list that claudio started, there is a lot of Palms, Newtons, Some really old portables (some 386's, some 486's), some VAIOs & Toshibas, MSX, Amigas, a dual Pentium Pro with a girl's name, and a lot of another bunch.

I made this week an interesting filter for an ezmlm list: This list now only accept signed (GPG) mails. Interesting. Oh: It's FREEZE time for Conectiva Linux 6.0. I've found a ugly bug in PHP 3.0.17: If you compile it with --enable-versioning, the modules (mysql, pgsql, imap, ldap, etcetera) doesnt work. :-/

In the mean time, we (eitch made it) published this week an interview with the Debian-BR people. Good. Take a look.
