since I no longer have my video grabber card in my PC,
not much is happening to

mod_video. a lot of people
have said they'd like to develop it further into
something useful, but so far none have lived up to
their promise of adding things to mod_video. if anyone
wants to take this project off my hands, please do
contact me. I wrote the module as a quick hack -- not
because I knew anything about video grabbing or image
encoding.

in other news...I am thinking about open sourcing a TCP
proxy that was written to handle large amounts of
long-running
interactive connections on what is today rather anemic
hardware. (a few thousand interactive users on a
200Mhz pentium Pro if memory serves. basically telnet
sessions).

the server is quite neat and the source code is quite
small, but I don't know if anyone
actually needs a proxy server that can handle thousands
of interactive connections with low CPU overhead.
would it be worth the trouble to open source it? would
anyone actually be willing to help develop it further?

you tell me :-)

some time ago I bought a keyboard and started playing
around. since I do a lot of programming I like to listen to
non-intrusive, monotonous music, so I decided to create some
music along those lines. you'll find
some Music for
Programmers here. Most of the tracks were made a few
days after buying my first keyboard.

Added a new developer to the mod_video project and
updated the documentation somewhat. Also invited a
couple of people to join the project if they want to.
(hey, if you're interested in joining too just drop me a
note :-)
