Notes: iPAQ, tuxscreen, audrey, ia-1, jornada720 hacking Turning a lowcost 'device' into a linux box (akin to 2-3 years ago ;) in a small formfactor is what I enjoy. Python/pygtk/libglade are great for throwing together apps that can easily be cross-platform and work well on various formfactors (see above). Will compile tonight and see what it does :-)
Regarding linux on jornada 720, serious development there.. should have it running familiar linux distro (v.5) by end of next week!!
Hacking madplay itself to add buffering (needed for battery-life preservation on iPAQ with all the hits it does on udrive or over nfs wireless mp3 sources).
Looks like plain intel ICH audio driver will work for ia-1. Need to try (building).
Still struggling to figure out what's going on with Scream and running it on my laptop (kde). Something happening with artsd and madplay. I suspect artsd has changed quite a bit in how it does its process handling and doesn't like my code for scream's console io/processes when spawned by artsdsp. Still works fine with iPAQ (typical ;-)
