deekayen: Cox's DHCP server has been down since around Friday for me... cable link works fine, but not even the Win2k machine can get a lease. This morning I "Fixed" it by manually ifconfig'ing the interface with the last lease values I got out of /var/log/debug .... tech support was totally useless.

trow: I absolutely HATED that book. I had to read it for English 101 class in college a few years ago. Bleck.

Been busy with the new job and school, and planning for
stuff for the wedding in September. Built .debs of the new
freeamp and musicbrainz releases today. Orphaned off most
of my packages
except for freeamp and gkrellm, as I don't use most of the
others.
Hard to believe it's been almost 4 months since my last
diary entry. Time flies when you're busy.

Oh-dark-thirty

Got into work at 5AM today, so I can leave at a decent
hour. Changing jobs then not having any leave right before
the holidays blows. Oh well. At least it's quiet...and
I've been semi-productive.

<krs> crAACCCCCCCCCK
I'm glad some people are having my share of partying :)

On a side note, we got a cable modem installed on
Wednesday. It's sooooo much nicer than dialup...

and wrapping up the loose ends. I'll miss my coworkers

I voted. Annoyed that my voting station didn't
give out "I voted" stickers. Bastards. My first time
voting (I was 17 1/2 in 96) and I don't even get the damn
sticker. :-)

KDE2 is nice.

neuro: We have the red-light
traffic
cameras here in northern Virginia, too. Haven't gotten
caught by one yet :)

aaronl: When I used to trick-or-treat, what
determined us going to houses or not was if they had some
sort of halloween-looking stuff out in front - pumpkin,
ghosts, cobwebs, whatever. We generally knew who did not
celebrate halloween and did not 'threaten' people to give us
candy. Certainly things may be different where you are, but
there's more to halloween than a bunch of kids going around
demanding candy... it's fun to just let loose, use your
imagination, and relax every now and then. If you don't
want people coming to your door, make it plain to the
parents of said children that you do not celebrate halloween
and wish to be left alone...or put a sign on your door
saying 'No candy, go elsewhere' or whatnot. If you're in
any kind of a decent neighborhood, they should respect your
wishes.
