I was trying to remember the name of that small program that allowed input with the mouse in which the letters moved towards the cursor and it somehow predicted what letter was most probably going to be picked next. I can't remember who wrote it but they were on Advogato.org

Advogato RSS Feed

A while ago I was working on a webscraper that would take input from http://www.advogato.org/recentlog.html manipulate it, shove it in a Mysql database and a perl cgi to output it as RSS. I got sidetracked. Recently I decided to try my hand at adding support for the recent log to cheesegrater rss generator. Now I have got it to produce output I can feed to SharpReader. It isn't quite finished as there are bugs with handling dates author of the entries

A sample output is here and you can subscribe to it as a feed but it isn't live yet. I don't think that I can support the bandwidth costs of a live feed. There is a patch for cheesegrater that represents my changes. I haven't finished yet. I hope people don't misuse it to put too much load on the server.

Comments appreciated

I am still having trouble finding people that will accept me into their project. At the moment I am just getting ignored. I need to do stuff to get people to take me seriously.

Oh and I am officially boring as my diary rating is stuck at 3.6 :-(

I am downloading and isntalling Gnome2 CVS and Mono to see if I can do anything on those. Mono is good as it has prominent todo lists.

It seems that someone (Sorry Glynn) left a html tag open ( <center>) that caused things to be centered for the rest of the diary entries in planet.gnome.org. I wonder whether an open <!-- comment at the end of someone elses blog entry would blank out other entries. Maybe somone should look at that? I suppose only trusted people are added to planet blog sites.

I always knew brilliant people hung around here:

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.
