I mean, look at Linux. Linux started because Linus didn't think Minix was the best system for the job. So he worked on it and came out with a superior product of his own. He didn't, at least not to my knowledge, flame the guy that wrote Minix all day long.

linus did flame the guy who wrote minix.
but it was a mutual thing
