Dear weblog,
Now that my Debian server has been updated to the new stable release (sarge), I've been using it more and more as a desktop system. Installing evolution, GNOME in general, and more stuff that you shouldn't install on a server. The advantage was that I could use my favorite programs over SSH. I could use evolution from everywhere! Isn't that nice?
I still missed one thing though. And that was some way to post to my advogato weblog. Drivel 2.0 had support for this, but Debian Sarge didn't include it. So, I compiled it myself. Because I'm probably not the only one who wants to use drivel on his debian sarge box, here it is: Click. Just install with dpkg -i (as root of course). Happy blogging!
P.S. On the "access my favorite programs from everywhere and anywhere" bit, I'd like to add that I'm forced to use a Windows box most of the time. But with Cygwin/X (Free Windows X implementation based on xorg), even this is not a big problem. Yay for Cygwin!!
