Hey all, new in the advogato community, figured I should
start writing here so some people will know/remember who I
am.
Wow, just started playing with the GnomeCanvas, Much
better then GtkDrawable+GdkPixmap for double
buffering. GnomeCanvas has relaly cool grpahics primitives,
it's much more powerful, much easier, built in double
buffering, and i can get anti-aliasing or cool
configurabilit+speed.
Met the head of Linux Global
Partners at last night's nylug meeting. Really cool
guy, knows what he's talking about. LGP is great for the
community. He also has a great vision for linux on the
desktop.
Gah, need to rip out my mobo tonight, trading it to a friend for a BP6. Sucks in the short run, better in the long run. It's an ABIT VT6X4, Via Apollo 133A chipset. All 2.4 does is say "hda: lost interrupt" during intensive disk I/O, forcing a hard boot and causing fs corruption. More later, I need to look like I'm working.
