Ah, feel much better now! It was an allergic reaction too much... eh... [whatever it's called in english] in the air this spring and now I'm taking pills against it which helps me tremendously!

Just hope those bloody things will rain away soon, hasn't rained for many weeks now...

Things have been quite calm at work this week. Two of the people in my room are at the E3 game fair so I haven't been able to work as much as I had hoped for. Still in a good position to get things done before I leave though...

When it comes to BladeEnc I'm more or less waiting for 3 important e-mails regarding legal status, new homepage design and code modifications (sent my mails last weekend but haven't had any replies yet). Have received some really interesting patches though. Quite odd, haven't received any patches to speak of for many weeks and now suddenly quite some interesting stuff starts to come in from people who haven't been involved before...

I'll see what I can do to get a new version out the door asap, but if I don't get anything out before the 26th of May we will have to wait until at least the 6th of June since I'm going away there inbetween...

Damn! My nose has been running and my eyes have been dry for almost two weeks now. First I just thought it was a bit of a cold, but now I seriously start to suspect that I have some kind of allergy. Better go and see a doctor if it doesn't stop next week :(

Despite this I had a wonderful weekend with my girlfriend a week ago and a very productive week at work. Things are getting fixed quite quickly now, looks like I'll be finished with all my stuff in a week or two, well ahead of me leaving UDS in three weeks. :)

Was at the local zoo (kolmården) yesterday with the rest of the people at UDS (last friday every month we always do something special). Weather was great so I was really enjoying a day out, despite most of my colleagues getting bored about two hours before the bus came to pick us up since we allready had seen everything...

This weekend I have nothing special planned so I'll probably be working on BladeEnc. However, don't expect any new release for at least a week to come.

Got some things taken care of during the easter holliday, including some BladeEnc work, but as always not as much as I had hoped but still added a quite interesting feature, just want to test it a bit more to be sure that I got it right before I start talking about it... ;)

Also, today we decided what would be my last day of work here at UDS: May 26, exactly 30 days from now, guess it's time to start planning the move to Malmö...

Going to Finland this weekend to meet my girlfriend.

The easter holliday! I'm having four and a half day off and nothing important that must be done. Terrific! :)

I've been spending the first two and half days jogging (need to get in shape), walking around in the park eating icecream (weather has been wonderful), watching TV, looking at my aquarium and making a lot of re-/installation of stuff on my computer.

I've been taking Mandrake 7.0 off from my stationary system since it never really worked to my satisfaction and repeatedly trashed my BeOS partition. :(

Installed SuSE 6.4 Evaluation instead since it's the latest distribution and I decided to give SuSE a try. Got quite disappointed that you got forced into a KDE environment. I like to switch between GNOME and KDE from time to time. Liked the support for ReiserFS and 3D accelaration for my Voodoo3 though, but then got disgusted from the lack of some very standard libraries (like GTK+) when I started to install some of my favourite tools from source and decided to switch to Red Hat 6.2 instead. But for some reason couldn't get the Red Hat installation to work on my system, tried with Caldera eDesktop as well, but the same problem there (started to get that kind of trouble when I inserted a new soundcard some months ago if memory serves me right, planning to rip it out again...). Got TurboLinux 6.0.1 to install though, but after some playing around I decided that I would prefer SuSE ahead of TurboLinux and installed it again. :(

After some tweaking and getting used to, I kind of start to like it...

Also got BeOS 4.5 up and running again and installed a lot of programs on my laptop which has been lying around with a very basic RH 6.2 install since I bought it because of lack of time. Good to feel that both my computers finally are configured the way I want. :)

Now I have two days left and plan to do some serious coding on BladeEnc. I've started to do some changes using my laptop while my stationary system was reinstalling operating systems and unless something unexpected happens I should have some very interesting experimental code running by tomorrow...

But now I need to sleep...zzzzz!

Looked through all the patent related papers again yesterday and found some interesting details that I had missed before.

BladeEnc binaries should be back online in the middle of next week... (hurray!)

Registered myself here at advogato and spent an hour certifying others I know of.

New Advogato Features

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.
