I would like to learn Java and don't know of any books that do a good job of introducing the language and teaching it. I have basiclly forgot most of the C++ that I know ( if you could say that, that what I know is anything at all considering how I was taught(unsure of spelling) it in school), which will hopefully be a good thing since I have heard that Java is very different from C++ and is hard for people who only know C++. So if someone could help me find a book I would appreciate it.

I just installed MkLinux on my Performa 6115CD!!! So far it's working great. I did it all by myself too.

Gosh I'm redundant. I must have said that I haven't done anything 4 times.

I'm am fairly new to the Open Source world. I have not done any projects yet or anything that could be considered anything. I can program but I haven't done anything. My friend and I have both had the same programming teacher, and let me tell you, he puts it mildly in his diary entries. Jdube and I plan to collaborate on something in the near future but must find an idea to work on.
