...Feeding an imagination

Reading between the lines;
between the sheets;
joining the dots;
filling the gaps;

Finishing other peoples
sentences.

Freed from the
compulsion for
everything.
Choosing what
and what not
to read.

Browsing.
...from which in good time I'd emerge

When I first began
reading I needed
a physical crutch:
I had to follow
the control flow
of a program text:
I had no idea of what
it would mean until I'd
explored every loop and branch.
Like a blind mouse wandering
through a labyrinth
to its very end.

Later on I
coped on less;
and less meant more:
Each unvisited branch
- a virtual limb -
not absent
yet not present:
Feeding an imagination.
... I got hooked, once and for all,
on the narrative thread.

I just couldn't let go;
Each lexical morsel
led inexorably to another;
in sequence
as nonsense
made sense
As Clotho spun
my first worldy garment
a cocoon from which
in good time
I'd emerge .
I am seeking ...
Light - my cave is dark;

Unable
to unpeel myself;
to reveal myself;
inside;

I am seeking ...
Proof - that I work;
a
zero
knowledge
proof - of my private interface.

In my beginning is my end:

    stopping only to start
    a new chapter
    - of a book
    never to be completely read;
    ink from a well
    - never to run dry;
Travelling:
    1001 winters' nights - through
    4 quartets - on
    3 slices of magic pudding;
    2 fishes with bread; and
    1 golden egg;
A correct use of soap:
    No yellow fog - dogging
    No machine - logging
    No middle ground - hogging

    New Advogato Features

    New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.
