Yeehaa! Winter term is over since thursday :))
Now, two parties later, serious work can begin again.
Everyone who always wanted to make a good suggestion for the
GIMP registry is invited to write in now! I still have a
stack to go through, mostly basic stuff, but I'll dedicate
most of next week to it, so chances are good.
Inbetween drinking, I read Neal Stephensons (of "Snowcrash"
and "Cryptonomicon" fame) first two works ("The Big U" and
"Zodiac", in that order). They are, obviously, not of the
same quality as his later works but definetely some of the
best debut work I have read so far. They don't have a
computer them (being about university dorm live and eco
activism, respectively) but that made for a refreshing
change from my usual literature. Stephensons lucid prose is
already there and especially Zodiac has some of the
insiqhtful, sarcastic humor that made his later works such a
success. They are short, too, so they make for good reading
on a trip or something. Overally, I can recommend them.
