What are my ideas about NewDNS? Lot's of..., but are not summarised yet. I think developing something like Jabber messaging system, but which is not dependent in any way on DNS will do. It whould be a start for development process and testbed same time.

Aa... I have got a question - Does GPL have any law value in our country? We have rule that only native-language documets will be considered of some value. Do we need authors presence to guard GPL-ed software here? ... Strange...
There rumors about some local company developing software based on gpled sources... And it is not behave well..

Some time ago I have posted "Dynamic vs Static" article

And I whould like to raise it again. Why you need to be shure, that user is authenticated if you have ability to check the result (subscribe to recive notices by mail) and ability to delete unwanted messages.

And there could be some random dictionary to determine is article really from you and not a Spam. You just get 1n world from top of it and insert it in your article as 1st line :)
This way you could collect all notify mails from all blogs and delete messages if only it is without "key word".

Ok ... there whould be some minutes when SPAM message will be visible as a blog message, but no more ! :)

raph: about rating. you see people making sub-headings in diaries? you could change "show first 5 lines" to "show sub-heading only". For you last entry this will show "Diary ratings, Healing ". Also you really need to implement hilighting of your own person name in other diaries. It could be just "add +5 to diary rating if it mention me" so you still could derate it to "0" to get rid of some persons diaries. Still it whould be great to name it /personal-recentlog.html. Also you may think of some special handling of replays (blocks , which comtains <person> tag) - may be you need to make some composition of author and mentioned person rating ((r1+r2)/2)?

goingware: yes - we have Linux preinstall on manufactured computer in Ukraine also and most of ISPs are FreeBSD/OpenBSD and linuxs. We have had big movement to Linuxes in game clubs this year. But... MS gives break. It tells that was amazed by pace of antipiracy compain in UA, so it will not suite anyone for piracy until this year end. That means all will have time to buy MS-s...
The main reason with blocks moving SOHO to Linux is - "1C". This is fiancial software for MS win. It defacto standart in RU/UA.
In EDU - the main reason is "If we will teach students entirely on Linux they whould be hard of geting job - most of them VC++ develpment or just MS Word editing in simple cases".

jauderho: you are ROOT for your rating. So your own raiting is the highest. Also note that you do not rate "diaries", but "person and it's ratings of others". IMHO :)

Ok... actually it may lead to something bad (there is no way to enshure that poster is the person listed), but still I think rated people are reasonable enough. :)

You should add - or Environment, or command line switches, or dialog boxes, or X resourses, or "configure" parameters before compilation, or #defines........

I thinks there is need in common configuration tool :) What do you think about posting article on "config" subject?

Languages
I still want to write article about sculptor-language. That means it must be flexible as clay during software development, but hard as burn clay for everyday usage. May be it shoul be some script, which could be made "solid". Something like using "strict" for perl, but advanced. With lot's of value checking and data-content limitations (such as for correctnes of input fields).

SimplePHPdb - new project

There is one php script wich do serialization/unserialization. It has little functionality, but very flexible. I have create it as a tool to help me with database design. It allows easy modifications to data structures.

Use it if you like. I think this is final version.

Why it is so easy to work on unix? All becouse you never solve full task. If you do not think so - just write a script, which converts all files in directory from lowercase to uppercase. And after that check if it works with names, containing " ", "\n", "'", '"' :)

id whould be like raph2969002@host - so you will be certain it is free of spam. So you will never loose essential mails.
Then all you need is just to have a way how to give your friends these emails.

The problem with Spam - you need to have public e-mails :(
but if you whould have hundreds of them - one for every mail list etc. It will ease your life ;)

FreeSoftware in Ukraine - We are trying to organize group of people interested in FS development in UA (see http://www.linux.kiev.ua (mail list) and http://www.linux.org.ua).
Now many people wants free solution just not to pay for Windows.. Actually most of our Game/Internet clubs now based on Linux + Wine solution (on site is description - how to setup ip, but it is in russian).
Heh... it's strange that people do not like to select something...They need single solution. Linux is just a big box of choices :) So it is not sutable as a commercial solution for SO/home users...
Also - it is easier to make interface Language selection by choosing one of several CD-s with dist, then choosing it from list on screen:)
Same with Descktop/Server versions...
