A friend of mine was thinking of creating some encryption feature for the ByzantineOS, the idea is to make it hebrew + crypto FS as a file under FAT/NT then all your secrets are in one file, and you boot from CD, diskless personality, as we call it.

I personally haven't tried using the ByzantineOS, but I was trying to think what ciphers should I be using for this task, I'm open to ideas. I'd rather take some standard password-protected crypto-fs that works and is peer reviewed already. question is if there's one that's both inside a FAT file and encrypted?

Another friend noted out that pgpdisk might come handy, it was used to store everything in one encrypted file. you had to mount it with their driver and it would decrypt it for you. then you could use it like a regular file system.

I'm not sure how good that idea is, it might involve pre-installing pgpdisk on the current OS before booting from the Byzantine CD.

first post by myself, how exciting :)

After i woke up early today, i went to my friend`s place. helped him taking his first step with OpenBSD. after the easy installation procedure we started with the configuration process. Seems like it came to him naturally, did`nt have any problems what so ever. but then again, he only played with the OS for about an hour or so:).

I`m quite glad that some friends of mine discover the amazing world of OpenBSD, i`m myself quite new into it, but i do enjoy it. Tommorow i`ll help him with some "pf" work, we`ll see how he manage :)
