Contrary to popular opinion, I do bleed

yakk: Without a clear enemy ("Terror" isn't a very good one), and without any clear objectives ("Stopping terror" is rather vague), I think the US will be able to claim victory for pretty much anything.

Got into Sigur Ros without a ticket, for free, thanks to an Icelandic version of Kirsten Dunst who knows the drummer and so got me onto the guest list. Sigur Ros once again were awe inspiring, and if I died tonight, I'd be happy.

mjs: When is it valid to stop having some decency? Or, to put it a more coherent way, when is it valid to stand on your soapbox, given that things like this happen all the time (in countries I like, and in countries I dislike I might add, execpt of course Canada, but nothing much happens there at all really, and I don't think that's because of their political system)?
