Don't you all hate it when you get into a kind of depressing phase in life? It happened to me during the last two days. It's the kind of time where you just don't want to do anything, or better still, be with your friends, drink a beer with them and watch tv all evening. No talking. Just their presence and something to focuse upon (i.e., the tv) :)

I'm glad it's over!

You know, I figured last year that a man must go back to it's roots in order to feel better. I like to be in the company of other human beings, I like being outdoors, I play guitar, and I relax. Hmmmmm... Ok, back to my regular stuff!

I downloaded the ssh protocol from ssh.com two days ago and didn't manage to configure it. The Readme file wasn't helpfull at all and when I tried to run it I got an error message that said I was running a pirated version of the protocol. (I was trying to connect to shell.sourceforge.net)

Anyone owns a project on sourceforge and would like to help me out on this? After all, I'm still a newbie in the linux / open source world.

I feel like a little frog that wants to swallow a bull... :)

Hmmm... Seems like I have lost my apprentice status! I didn't earned it, anyway. At least it'll be an extra motivation for me to push forward into the realm of open source. But it's kinda hard. I mean, I work all day long in front of a computer, spliting my brain in half trying to figure out a fix for some nasty bugs. The last thing I want to do when I get home is to open my computer.

But it's calling me... Oh, the marvellous song it puts in my head.

You see, I realized last week that to be succesfull in the field you must put some hard work, learn things that you wouldn't learn otherwise, create something new.

And that's exactly what I'm going to do!

Watch out there, I'm comming!

Aaah! What a great weekend I've just had. Nice weather and a nice hiking trail. What more could I ask for?

I just realised that MS windows doesn't support the ssh1 protocol and I need it to log into my shell account at sourceforge in order to create my project homepage. I'll have to wait 'till this evening to get on my linux box and do it all from there.

Great! SourceForge accepted my project. The web page should be on by next week. I would really like this project to work!

The afternoon is awfully long... Anyway, here are the features I'm planning to put into my project:

- internet play

- 2D view (at first. I'll move up to 3D later...)

Something came up last night so I didn't start the project. And I'll be away for the weekend, doing some hiking. Oh well... I hope to start it soon!

I created my web page. There's not much on it right now... just a blank page! :)

Still waiting for a sourceforge account for my project.

Great! I just opened my project on sourceforge.

It's going to be under the GPL license. I can't wait to start. But I've got to get rid of my lazyness first... :)

Crap! I lost my first diary entry.

Oh, well...

I'll hopefully start a new project tonight. I've been thinking about it for quite a while now and tonight we be a good time to start. It's like a tron game. Well, it is a tron game.

It'll be programmed in c++ on a linux box using xlib and openGL. I plan to learn a lot about the free software licenses and game programming in general. When this is done, I'll update the game to 3D, thus getting into more advanced openGL programming.

Meanwhile, gotta go get some more coffee. Corel is shipping beta 2 version of CorelDraw 10 and I've got a lot of bugs to fix... sigh! :)

See ya.
