Burn Out

Just read an interesting article about how not to burn out yourself nor the people working for you.

Given that the Happiness equals the Reality divided by the Expectations, if your reality is too poor or if your expectations are non reachable, your Happiness goes near 0.

Finally, you have only two solutions : decrease your Expectations or increase your Reality.

Personally, I prefer the latter.

Dear cat,

I do not understand why OpenSpecies has been considered like a spammer !

Advogato the cat, can you give us back its blog ?

Cheers,

Update: blog is back. Thx.

Update of update : finally, blog erased :-( News blog here.

ProSoftware is a new user. Its profile homepage generates StopBadware message from my Google Desktop ...

Can you flag this account as spam ?

Can we think about some mechanism in mod_virgule to detect such links ?

Nicolas Hulot - Foundation for Nature and Mankind initiative
@Turn-over - really ?

    People need to work on interesting projects not only on routine ones.

    Management should not be stupid enough to kill enthusiasm and creativity ...

    Work should be organized : every person should know his place within the company. Every person should know where the company and himself goes in both short and long term.

    Every person should feel himself as an expert. Management should propagand democracy instead of authoritarianism.

    Involve all people - not only top managers - to corporate development process, and let them suggest innovative ways to grow your company.

    Good salary also helps :-)

@Kill Bill

    I'm currently working hard to finish the "presentation pack " (executive summary, business plan, budget, trademark registration, ...) to be able to start the roadshow and raise some money.

    NB: Kill Bill is a new kind of venture french firm specializing in funding startups by joining together business angels : share the means, share the risks, share the results. We help startups through what is for many the hardest step, from technical product availability to company making money.

@iTrade

    Because of activity just above, not so much time to work on the project :-(

iTrade project
    The community around the project is growing slowly but surely. We receive much positive feedback. And the roadmap is consolidated around the functions most awaited by the users.
    The developments progress more quickly for this winter period. On the short radar : better refresh mechanism, printing support, true indicators back-end, more graph options.
    You can help us also by joining the project. Contact information is proposed on this page, some hacking information here.
@Kill Bill
    I'm still launching a new venture ; and I'm still looking for someone with legal competencies and advisories. Smart guy. Position in France, Paris down-town. with spare time during the startup phase. Board member.
@Work
    It is always difficult to challenge and to motivate the troops when there are blood and tears but so little future.

@HumanRessources
    (recruiter) : what do you look for ?

    (me) : Hmm. I'm looking for a new position within a smart company

    (recruiter) : what is a smart company ?

    (me) : smart projects with a smart team and a smart boss

    (recruiter) : ah ?! what is a smart boss ?

    (me) : someone with a vision, who shares this vision, who builds up a strategy to realize this vision, who takes decisions aligned with this strategy.

    (recruiter) : ah?! and in your current position ? your boss ?

    (me) : Well, duh !
@Kill Bill
