GTK+ in non-GNOME software

With the release of a new version of XFCE about four days ago, all redone in GTK+, it's interesting to wonder if even other desktop environments could pop up using GTK+ and what good impact that could have for GNOME.

SourceForge goes into beta

SourceForge, a new service to host CVS, bug tracking, message boards, site hosting, and other services for open source projects, has gone into beta. It's funded by VA Linux systems, so it ought to be a pretty good deal.

German government funding for GPG

Heise reported (in German) this morning that the German government has donated 250,000 DM to the GPG project, led by Werner Koch.

New color management library

Martí Maria Saguer recently announced lcms, his "little color management system." As such, it joins Graeme Gill's libicc as one of two free software libraries for handling ICC profiles.
