AFFS (UK) Annual Conference: call for participation

Posted 5 May 2004 at 14:19 UTC by slef Share This

The AFFSAC for 2004 happens in Birmingham on Saturday 15 May 2004. The online registration form is now active, via the conference page. If you're able to be there, please come along.

Details are appearing on the page. The sessions seem to be "applications" (development, distribution and financial application talks at the moment, unconfirmed), "actions" (expect DRM and magazine talks) and "discussion" (panel debate and birds-of-feather).

It's 10am to 4pm at Handsworth Grammar School, Birmingham. The conference is open to AFFS members and those who have applied and are waiting for their membership (subscription fee 10 pounds annually). If you're not a member and want to support free software, apply, pay and attend. Lunch should be provided and there are still some exhibitor stands available. For AFFS members and interested guests, the AFFS AGM follows directly after the conference.

Keep checking the page for updates. Some details of last year's event are available online.

If you have questions, please post them as comments and I'll try to answer soon.

Schedule now online, posted 11 May 2004 at 19:15 UTC by slef » (Master)

Thanks to Kevin Donnelly, the schedule is now online, or as much of it as we have now. (The schedule is full, but some speakers have yet to submit details.)

New Advogato Features

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.
