Badvogato is Gone!

Badvogato has disspeared as far as my browser can tell which one of you is responsible for shutting down our evil empire?

Transient DNS issue, posted 17 Jan 2002 at 17:48 UTC by logic » (Journeyer)

Looks like it was a temporary DNS problem (if you're still having problems getting there, kick your DNS cache). To avoid this kind of heartache in the future, you could always add "64.149.187.165 badvogato.org www.badvogato.org" to /etc/hosts. ;-)

As a side note, it looks like ns.cocktailmonkey.org, one of the DNS servers for badvogato.org, is still down, and has potentially been down for quite a while, which is why the temporary outage of ns.zork.net caused an outage. Maybe another nameserver is in order?

shit happens when holes are transient or hidden.

Southpoint?, posted 18 Jan 2002 at 05:06 UTC by badvogato » (Master)

31 March 2001 "Badvogato was down because of the Northpoint situation."

Maybe this time it's due to the Southpoint ?

Here's the Lament. evilcrepe is gone. pope is gone. "threetimes a lady" no longer being bad but Badvogato is still badvogato and thrives to be secondtimes a downvogato, largely owe to new lads on the block like you.

Neither of us has a point to take up space here, right?

Not quite down, posted 18 Jan 2002 at 16:08 UTC by crackmonkey » (Master)

Sorry about the DNS snafu, there. I forgot that I still had any domains that weren't backed up by my friend in Canadia.

For those of you itching to get your fix, badvogato is still accessible via badpeople.org. That domain may be reclaimed for other use at some point in the somewhat distant future, though.

The trick was that both ns.zork.net and ns.cocktailmonkey.org moved into the same room last march, and they're both in hiatus on other networks while we move from flat to flat. I'll be updating the ns.zork.net glue record as soon as I get through writing this message, and then I'll fix up the zone glue.

Crackmonkey you are a genious shame you dont post on badvogato as often as here but that is our loss. I can finally get my fix!
